			Panel Facts

			What is the official name of this product? Due to the increasing popularity of this type of product, it has welcomed new nicknames in the industry. Stressed Skin Insulating core, Foam-Core Panels, Structural Insulated Panels, etc. The official name for this type of product is Stressed Skin Insulating Core. That became too difficult to use, and wasn't marketing compatible. It all basically means the same thing.

Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) - Insulation

IB Panels' ® Structural Insulated Panels system with their gap-free design, provide a blanket of solid insulation that allows for a much tighter than conventional stud frame wind seal. This Structural Insulated Panel system also provides immediate savings in energy costs, and totally eliminates drafts while retaining superior insulating ability throughout the life span of each panel system.

Structural Insulated Panels are used for the floor systems, exterior walls and roof. This proven technology provides insulation levels that meet or exceed current residential energy code. The houses are much tighter compared to a conventionally stick framed homes, reducing the amount of heat lost or gained through infiltration and eliminating much of the thermal bridging, thereby increasing the overall R-value of the house.

Major researchers state Structural Insulated Panels are 50% more energy efficient than a comparable house of standard stick-framed construction. The energy saved means money back into your pocket.
